Have you ever wished you could shop all the local wares Greenville artisans and business owners offer all in one place? Look no further than MooseheadMarketplace.com! As an added bonus, you can shop all these local goodies from the comfort of your living room (or anywhere else you fancy- no one will ever know!)
The business was the brainchild of Janet Chasse, who owned a local daycare in Greenville for many years and has always been a fierce advocate of our little town, most notably as one of our hardworking selectwomen for a period of time. Moosehead Marketplace was born out of a desire to strengthen our local economy. Our short tourism season can be difficult for local makers and business owners, but does it have to be? Janet envisioned a way for these talented entrepreneurs to thrive all year long, and with Greenville being so remote, she decided an online store was the way to go.
The online market boasts an impressive array of local gifts: books and puzzles, décor and treats, all crafted in the Moosehead Region, with a few exceptions being local to Maine. The store sells stand-alone items as well as carefully curated gift collections that come in a beautiful canvas bag sewn by local crafter Bonnie Erkkinen.
Instead of funneling your hard-earned dollars into a giant conglomerate like Amazon, where the gifts are often impersonal and mass-produced on a factory assembly line, consider using at least some of those dollars to strengthen our local economy and support small business owners and entrepreneurs right here in our little community. The gifts are almost exclusively handmade with care by our friends and neighbors and will be sure to bring a smile to the face of whoever is on the receiving end- whether it’s for a loved one of a little gift for yourself, again, no one will ever know! Moosehead Marketplace boasts the convenience of other online shops with a more personal touch, so make sure it’s your first virtual stop when shopping this holiday season.
