GREENVILLE JCT. – On April 8th the Greenville Junction Depot will be open to the public for viewing of this year’s eclipse on April 8th from noon to 4pm.

They will be serving hotdogs on the grill, chips, baked goods and refreshments by donation for your enjoyment. Eclipse glasses will be available on first come basis that have generously donated by the Office of Tourism, State of Maine and Northern Light Health Care.

They are looking for folks that may want to set up small train set ups that day for public viewing, Space is available. Contact Cheri Goodspeed at 207-280-0999, Do you have one you haven’t set up for a while?

Rental Opportunities at Junction Depot 

The Greenville Depot Friends are pleased to announce that the freight shed portion of this historic Depot can be rented now from Memorial Day Weekend to Columbus Day.

They are excited to share that it can hold 75 folks for a seated event with tables, and 150 seated in chairs for a meeting. The Greenville Depot Friends have been busy these past two years adding a caterer’s kitchen and 2 handicapped bathrooms as well as a handicap ramp for wonderful accessibility.

Mark your calendars for their annual events: Moosehead Lake Artisans Show June 15, Depot Trackside Tea July 6 and their annual Mooseburger/Railroad Depot Celebration on August 17. More details are available on their website www.greenvilledepot.org

Outside space for the Artisans Show on June 15th, is still available, email Cheri at cherigoodsped1@gmail.com if you are interested in participating in this event. This year we will be adding outside vendors to the Mooseburger event as well on August 17.

Our annual appeal this year netted the Depot matching funding for this year’s project at the Depot. 

A generous donor also offered to match those funds to restore the Ticket Office portion of the Depot. This renovation will include the operator’s desk, and office portion of the Depot, with hope of securing the Ladies Room ceilings as well.
